Ironwood is a unique organization. We are made up generally of senior executives, often from the turnaround and corporate restructuring fields, who specialize in crisis management and in helping companies grow more rapidly, effectively and efficiently. In a word or two, we are transition managers. We help you transition your company from where it is today to where you want it to be.
What you see is most often what you get. That means that by and large we do not give you a rain-maker to overcome your hesitations and then provide junior personnel to do the work. Usually the people that you see in the process of meeting with us and before entering into an agreement with us for an engagement are the people with whom you will be working.
We have a strong operating background. Most of our personnel have run large, medium or small companies and know what it is to be a C-level officer. We have a number of CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CIOs and other experienced individuals who have "been there, done that."
We have experience in over 35 industries. Does that mean we're an expert in all those industries? No. What it does mean is that we know where some of the "bodies are buried" there and have someone (or a number of people) who can speak the (industry) language.
We find that with most industries and most companies the challenges are remarkably (and sometimes painfully) similar. Having "been there" before, we can work with you to get you and your company out of the maze and back on a growth path.
We can provide for you individual managers where individuals are all that is needed. this can be done either in a consulting role or in the role of an interim manager (CEO, COO, CFO, etc or project related manager).
We can provide multi-functional teams to assist you in running your company, run a new or an old division, run a new acquisition, run a troubled element of your firm or simply operate a product line that you feel should be growing and capturing greater market share than it has so far. These teams are there for just as long as you need them - part time or full time - and no longer. It is often less expensive to hire Ironwood to manage such projects, divisions, companies or acquisitions "over a hump" than it is to let them languish while seeking permanent staff. We can get the ball rolling.
These teams can handle companies up to the $500 Million annual revenue range. Our target market, however, is from $10 Million to $100 Million. We have handled companies below that level and far above that level - and welcome the opportunity to bid on those management challenges. We work with both public and private companies.
Our teams and our personnel are collaborative. We work with you. We are often brought in by management, the Board of Directors, creditors or associated investment bankers, attorneys or accountants.
In many circumstances we can help you raise debt or equity. Once we get a feel for your challenges and your needs we can give you a fairly accurate prediction of what is possible in this regard.
